Nicklas Richards, Vice President Of Technology
Nicklas Richards is Vice President of Technology at Purple Land Management and is responsible for Overdrive, PLM’s operating and data systems, software, and AI implementation.
Nick started at PLM specializing in GIS solutions and developing the Overdrive platform. Nick has experience driving technical innovation, customer success, and operational growth while collaborating with a diverse range of clients and business units.
Nick leads technology-forward operations initiatives at PLM with deep expertise in process architecture, data management, and the operational needs of GIS, land and energy users. He is renowned for translating complex systems into clear, actionable insights and operational efficiencies for key stakeholder audiences from engineers to business unit leaders, and is committed to driving PLM’s strategic growth and continued platform innovation.
Nick has prior experience in AI and automation with Document Intelligence (formerly ThoughtTrace, which he supported in its acquisition by Thomson Reuters) to support their growth and innovation as Customer Success Operations Manager and Product Manager. In these roles, he continued his engagement with energy and land groups and gained intimate knowledge of AI and ML product development and market innovation. Here, he refined his product ownership expertise, excelling at aligning stakeholders including engineering teams with business goals and customer priorities to position the product for sustained success.
A lifelong Ohio resident, husband, and proud father of two, Nicklas graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and a minor in Philosophy.
